Temporary Building Giants Merge

July 2005

The merger of Storage Structures and TempAstor Ltd is now complete.      Both companies are now trading and operating under the TempAstor banner at their Head Office in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire.

This pooling of the market leaders with over 30 years experience and resources will create a tour-de-force within the world of temporary and re-locatable buildings.

With the full Storage Structures team relocating to Uttoxeter, regular contacts of Storage Structures can rest assured the same excellent service, customer care, products and prices will be provided.

Founded in 1972, TempAstor has developed a state-of-the-art range of standard and fully insulated aluminium-framed portal structures, which specifically meet the challenges of the UK market.

TempAstor house all their stock on site allowing for an instant call to action, particularly in emergency situations such as flood or fire damage.  Storage Structures and their in-house manufacturing capability will be fully operational at these premises from June.

Elevated to global status, TempAstor Ltd is now sister company to French based SF Protection, one of Europe’s largest supplier of temporary structures with offices throughout Europe, USA, The Middle East and Asia.

With the companies amalgamating under one roof, options will be rich and varied, ranging from the basic, budget structure through to fully insulated advanced architecture, with a full range of ancillary equipment and options to meet all requirements.

Speaking about this exciting development, Andrew Dorrington, Managing Director of Storage Structures said.  “TempAstor’s immense on-site stock levels, combined with Storage Structures in-house manufacturing division and two strong reputations for quality, service and expertise will ensure a major stake in the UK and Irish Market.  Include sister company, French based SF Protection, into this equation and the new TempAstor will be able to boast one of the largest stock holdings in Europe.

With plans to branch out into the military market and offices opening up in Ireland in the summer the future certainly looks very exciting indeed!”

New Year, New Brochure!

February 2005

Storage Structures are pleased to announce the launch of a new company brochure.

Commenting on the new company literature Andy Butters, Sales Manager for the company said  “Storage Structures are experiencing a healthy and steady growth with demand for temporary warehousing increasing month by month and many more contracts for multi-purpose usage coming in daily.    As such, our product range and service has expanded and this needed to be comprehensively illustrated in a new brochure.

We are aware of how busy individuals and companies are and that finding time to plough through hefty corporate brochures is difficult.     With this in mind, we have kept the brochure design minimal with a very crisp and clean look to ensure precise but informative information is simple and quick to find”.

If the brochure proves effective and enquiries increase even further, the company may be looking at a steady growth in head count!

Company Growth Leads to New Jobs

February 2005

Derby based specialists in temporary, multi-purpose and re-locatable buildings, Storage Structures, are pleased to welcome three new members to the team.    Continued growth of the company has led to three new positions being created to cope with the extra enquiries and workload.

Lisa Hyatt has undertaken the role of Sales Co-ordinator and is responsible for taking, processing and monitoring all new sales enquiries.    Lisa had previously worked for Storage Structures’ sister company, Owen Brown and was returning from maternity leave when she accepted the position.     Not too hard an adjustment as although the product and job had changed, she was rejoining her old office and work colleagues!

After more than ten years living and working in France, Kirstie Aue joined the company as Personal Assistant to Andy Butters.    Kirstie’s fluent French bridges many difficult gaps when trying to communicate with the head office of their manufacturing division based in France.    Additionally, her excellent organisational skills have made life much easier for a somewhat frazzled Mr Butters!

Lastly, the New Year saw a fresh start for Jennifer Underhill who joined the company as Sales Executive.  Jennifer brings a wealth of sales experience and knowledge to the company and with a large amount of client liaison under her remit, should become a familiar face before too long.

Speaking about the expanding team, Andy said “These new positions were created to ensure that, in the face of ever increasing enquiries, our customer care, professional service and quick response times were kept at a premium.    I am delighted to welcome all three members on board and believe we now have a very strong, experienced and professional team that will take the company successfully forward”.

A New Image For Storage Structures Parent Company

Owen Brown, leading marquee and temporary structure specialist and parent company of Storage Structures, a key name in the temporary storage sector, has revealed an exciting new corporate identity, portraying a much more dynamic and contemporary image..

The new look is part of a much broader initiative by French holding company, formerly Generalé Location and now simply known as GL Events. Henceforth Owen Brown will be known as GL Events Owen Brown.

GL Events is a leading international event services company with offices across the World. Amongst their divisions, GL Events own a subsidiary specialising in the manufacture of temporary structures, and it is this link that has enabled Storage Structures to offer competitively priced, high quality industrial buildings, suitable for almost any application, to the UK market.

It is as part of this global GL Events network that Owen Brown has decided to update its own image. The new corporate identity takes effect from 10th November, with gradual changes to vehicle livery, website updates and other rebranding to follow in the New Year.

Andrew Dorrington, Managing Director of Owen Brown and Storage Structures, is delighted with the new look: “As a market leader in our industry, we are determined to uphold our reputation for providing a quality of service that is second to none. Branding is important in any industry, and our new look gives our company are more modern image, but our people, our principles and our passion for providing the very best will remain unaltered.”

Storage Structures are a perfect solution for all types of temporary storage, warehousing and commercial cover. Satisfied customers include : Sainsburys, Suffolk Foods, Peugeot, Unipres, Makro and Land Rover.

Sainsburys-another satisfied customer

Now that his temporary structure has been removed, Pete Williams, Operations Manager of Sainsburys new store in Hazel Grove, Stockport and his team realise what a good job it did for them. Pete told us that he needed something “Temporary, flexible substantial and secure for extra storage following the opening of a totally new store concept in 2002 and especially over the Christmas period. The space proved a great bonus and we’ll probably need to replace it for next Christmas”, mentioned Pete.

The Hazel Grove store is just one of three unique new type of stores in the Sainsbury chain. The layout is unique, a café in the centre of the store and an interactive ‘Kids Zone’ upstairs. The entrance is in the centre of the store and customer service is the main ethic of these new ideas, so much so that at the recent retail wards, considered as the ‘Retail Industry Oscars’, the store was the winner of ‘Retail launch of the year’ something the staff are extremely proud of. Extra space was an essential part of the launch period which gave the flexibility needed to ensure stock levels were right to cope with demand in what was proved to be a very successful new store.

Instant Flexibility In Storage

East Midlands company Owen Brown, already established as a market leader for temporary structures and marquees for major events, is now cornering the market in temporary warehousing.

Owen Brown, part of the Gènèrale Location Group, launched the Storage Structures brand at the end of last year and has been inundated with requests for temporary warehouse storage and workspace structures. The structures are designed and manufactured within the Group and are available on both a hire and sales basis to provide a fast method of increasing storage space as and when required.

Structures totalling around 40,000 square metres of storage are held in stock and can be used for a wide range of applications. Current contracts range from protecting rotor blades during refurbishment to providing warehousing space for supermarkets. Major players in the utilities sectors are also using the structures and there is increased interest from the automotive industry.

Storage Structures are available at short notice and as well as the larger structures, Owen Brown continues to offer its successful range of folding covers that provide rapid protection solutions ranging in size from 1 metre upwards.

These folding units are used by many Premiership Football Clubs to provide protection for their players between the changing room and the pitch. They are also widely used in industry to protect products from rain, dust and contamination.
